Commissions
St. Pius has a variety of commissions
representing different concerns of the church. Please consider becoming
involved in one of the following commissions and help in
serving our faith community.
Formation occurs
through the maturation processes of life - in community experiences
of our parish, through workplace interactions, in our leisure time
activity and in the domestic churches of our homes. As we deepen our
participation in an active faith life our understanding of our
personal call to discipleship grows. We are called to community and
mission.
This commission promotes faith growth through all stages of life and
particularly stresses the importance of continued faith growth and
leadership of adults. This deepening springs from our celebration of
liturgy and is further informed by the U.S. Catholic Bishops
pastoral plan “Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us”. We value and
support the spiritual growth and leadership of our parishioners
through faith resource materials for individual, family and small
faith community use as well as through parish community
opportunities that build relationships and deepen faith.
The work of this commission is carried out through the work of our
parish network including the Adult Faith Committee, the Office of
Catechesis, St. Pius X School and Youth Ministry. |

Parish
Life |

The Parish Life Commission plays a
unique role at St. Pius X Parish by planning events that help
promote a sense of parish identity. Our goal us to bring people
together for enjoyment, relaxation and community building, outside
of the liturgy. We promote getting to know one another while having
FUN!
We are the party planners of the
parish and are seeking creative people to join us in designing
entertaining events. New commission members are always welcome and
encouraged to join the team. We
meet on the 1st
Monday of each month at 7 pm, September to May. For more
information contact the parish office at 393-4445 or
Pam Satern.
We try to facilitate activities where
parishioners have a chance to gather to meet new people, make new
friends and network with each other. Not only is the social aspect
valuable, but equally important are the relationships that are
formed as parishioners have the opportunity to volunteer together at
these events. Many of our events are held annually. Most likely
you have attended one or more over the years.
Parish Life Commission Members:
Chairperson-Jenny Ryan, Doug Beadle, Angie Cummings, Beck McCarville, Staff Rep-Pam Satern.

An important aspect of
our Catholic faith is the concept of Christian Stewardship as found
in the word of God. As Disciples of Christ, we accept the invitation
to participate in our parish and our world by embracing stewardship.
This includes sharing our time, talents and financial resources.
As baptized members of the Catholic faith, we are called to serve
individually and as a faith community. A spirit of Holy gratitude is
a wonderful blessing. One of the primary acts of stewardship is
coming together for the celebration of the mass as a faith community
and going forward to “love and serve the world.”
Please consider joining the committee as we focus on continuous
education and the Stewardship Commitment Appeal. New members are
always welcome. The Stewardship Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday
of the month from September to May from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Members are: Mike Hunting, Christine Kirpes, Kay McWhinney, Mary
Parrish, Monica Roltgen, Joyce Sefl (PPC liaison), Pam Satern, staff liaison. For
more information, please call the parish office at 393-4445 or email
Pam Satern.
Stewardship Commission coordinates the annual survey and educational
weekends in January. They weekends highlight different speakers and
aspects of Stewardship. The first weekend is focused on scriptural
and spiritual aspects of Stewardship, the second weekend features “A
View From the Pew” with talks by parishioners, and the third weekend
shares a visual media presentation showing volunteers in action.•
